Retail showing improvement
As the last snow finally melts away, retail sales seems to be reacting in a positive way. Reuters recently reported a 1.1 % increase for March on the heels of a dismal February, again due to weather. Hopefully this increase in March will continue through the spring and summer months. Everyone on the retail and supply side would welcome a positive trend and good news.
Tabletop Unlimited is launching four new collections at the tabletop show in New York which will include a collection of countertop pieces as well as drinkware. We are very pleased with the designs and the execution.
We are anxious to hear the reaction from their retail base and of course, where we get placement. We will keep all of you informed as this moves forward. There could be several opportunities in other product categories to coat tail this distribution. Stay tuned!
Christies has announced they will be auctioning Norman Rockwell’s “The Rookie” on May 22. The listed estimated amount for this piece is 20-30 million dollars.
