Off To A Good Start

January has started on a very positive note. Markets have all reported increased attendance and buying. Internationally, Frankfurt was said to be well attended and the buyers were enthusiastic. Surf Expo in Orlando reported a record number of exhibitors, as well as attendees. Again, the attitude there was positive and dollars were being spent. In Atlanta, the show days were extended and the buyers responded in a favorable manner. The attendance was the highest in six years and the average stay per buyer increased from two days to four. We attended the show and we felt the buzz was very positive. The reps and manufactures I spoke with were extremely happy with their results. Obviously, Q4 sales were better than expected and buyers were anxious to fill their shelves. The Director of Economic Indicators reported current consumer confidence is the highest since 2008, which supports the market results to date.

We had a strong show in Atlanta working with existing licensees on new projects and exploring opportunities with new companies. We were pleased to see the amount of new product launched at the show and are encouraged in the interest shown in our art moving forward in 2014.

We will be in NYC next month for meetings and the Toy Fair and then Housewares  Show in Chicago in March. We hope to see many of your there.

Please continue to challenge us with your needs and wish lists. We are always happy to dig for new material and assist you in any way.

We hope all of you are having a good start to the year and look forward to work with you in 2014.
