Consumer Confidence Index Higher Than Projected

The Consumer Confidence Index was released for November and it showed an increase from October and exceeded the projection for the month. November’s index came in at 107.1 which is the highest since July 2007. The projected number for the month was 101.2 and it surpassed Octobers number of 98.6. An increase of 5 or more points in a month indicates a trend change, the 8.5 point increase is a positive sign for the balance of the year and Q1 2017.  Black Friday reported record sales of 3.34 billion dollars which is a 21.6 increase over last year. If you include retail sales on Thanksgiving day, the total sales for the two days totaled $5.27 billion. Cyber Monday also set new retail numbers and mobile revenue retail sales also set new records. January markets should be well attended and sales should be strong.
This month,  Sotheby’s auctioned two Rockwell originals, “Wedding March”, and “Undecided” as part of their American Art Auction.

These auctions continue to draw a lot of attention in the art world and is covered actively by the press. They also bring great awareness to the Rockwell brand and the Post.  This year’s auction was particularly timely as the Undecided painting mirrored the anxiety of many real voters.

We are thrilled to be working with The James Trogolo Company. They are the leader in seasonal decorations for Malls. They have created a  Santa-themed holiday vignette centered around Saturday Evening Post holiday illustrations by Norman Rockwell.

They are currently working with General Partners, which is a very large mall owner. Their current vignette locations include the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, Georgia,  the Oxmoor Center Mall in Louisville, Kentucky and the Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Texas.   The designs they created turned out amazing and it is getting terrific reviews!  We are hoping to expand the concept to additional malls across the country next year.
2018 will mark the 75th Anniversary of the “Four Freedoms” by Norman Rockwell. This anniversary will receive a lot of National attention and offers a great opportunity for you to capitalize on the event. We have prepared a one sheet with the four illustrations, as well as the back story on their creation. If you have interest, please let us know and we will forward the information to you.

We hope all of you have a wonderful Holiday season and we look forward to seeing you soon,
